Robert Bohler, MPH
Robert Bohler, MPH, is a NIAAA pre-doctoral trainee studying behavioral health policy in the Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University. He identifies as a recovery scientist with an emphasis in opioid use disorder. Mr. Bohler is particularly interested in better understanding implementation of evidence-based policies. He recently served as a Rappaport Policy Fellow through the Harvard Kennedy School of Government at the Massachusetts State House, and the lead researcher for a report and community forum on the impact of opioids on Western Massachusetts. He currently works as a research associate for the Opioid Policy Research Collaborative at Brandeis University and as a consultant for the Recovery Research Institute at MGH/Harvard. Mr. Bohler received an MPH with an emphasis in Epidemiology from the Jiann-Ping Hsu College of Public Health at Georgia Southern University and received an AB in Economics from the University of Georgia. Prior to moving to New England, Mr. Bohler worked in collegiate recovery, has been involved in starting up a recovery community organization, and published on the continuum of care for substance use disorder. He plans to use his medical background as well as his public health and policy perspective to inform systems of care for substance use disorder that are comprehensive, equitable, and science-based.
