Kirsten Bondalapati, M.P.H.
Kirsten was born and raised in the Detroit suburbs and has lived in Detroit for the last four years. She graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Psychology and began her career by working in a social psychology research laboratory and advocating for reduced restrictions on embryonic stem cell research. Kirsten went on to receive a Master of Public Health from Emory University, specializing in behavioral sciences, health education, and mental health. She was equally active during her time in Emory, coordinating a campus-wide health assessment and developing a new student organization dedicated to mental health. Shortly after graduation, Kirsten moved to Detroit and participated in an urban revitalization fellowship where she consulted for local non-profits and worked for a statewide hospice organization, providing analytic and research support. Kirsten has also worked in health policy and community health, at a startup public health non-profit in Detroit and a health policy research center in Ann Arbor. Kirsten has melded her passions in public health, urban planning, entrepreneurship, and mental health and currently practices as a real estate agent in Detroit, owns a family-run photo booth business with her sister-in-law, and works as Secretary for the Loving Mind Institute.
